Why Should I Believe the Bible Is True?

Hey! It's me again! So, this is a pretty big question for many people. As the foundation of Christianity, if the Bible can be proven fallible, the whole belief system crumbles into dust.
People have tried to prove the Bible wrong in various areas, but creationists* have since come up with different arguments to refute their "proofs". In this article, I'm going to try and share a few of these rebuttals.
Proof #1: The Bible says of itself that it is true.
Okay, don't click away yet! I'll explain myself. My view, or presupposition, is that the Bible, God's Holy Word, is completely true. Presuppositional apologetics is the act of defending the Christian worldview using the Bible as our starting point. Though some may see this as circular reasoning (merely assuming what we're trying to prove), presuppositional apologetics is actually biblical. The Bible never tries to prove that God exists - rather, it takes God's existence as an established fact and reasons from there.
On the other hand, an evolutionist or atheist would have the presupposition that all organisms evolved from a single-celled creature which came from an assembly of chemicals, without God's intervention. This person would interpret the evidence and argue from the standpoint of naturalistic evolution. Now, I think you all agree that I have as much right to argue from the Biblical point of view as an evolutionist has to argue from their viewpoint.
To continue my explanation, I'm going to start with Numbers 23:19. “God is not a man, that He would lie, Nor a son of man, that He would change His mind; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?"
That's pretty straightforwards, right? God cannot lie. The Bible says this over and over.
Romans 3:4 (paraphrased) says to let God be found true, but every man a liar.
2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness."
In summary, the Bible is true because it says that it is true. This is not a logical fallacy; it is presuppositional apologetics. More information can be found at the articles linked below the image.
Proof #2: The Bible could not have been written by men without God's inspiration.
Most of us can agree on the meaning of good and evil, right? Good means helping the stray puppy and evil means kicking that puppy into the gutter. With that in mind, here's a thought for you.
The Bible says around 300 times that it is directly inspired by God. However, suppose that the Bible were written by human beings without God's assistance. These people would have to be either "good" people or "bad" people.
If the Bible were written by "good" people, then they would be lying every single time they wrote, "Thus sayeth the Lord." Therefore, they would not be good people, but liars. So it is impossible that the Bible was written by good people without God's help.
Now, of course, that leaves "bad" people, right? Not a chance. If bad people wrote the Bible, then why does it condemn immorality, lawlessness, and other evils that are sadly common in today's society? It makes no sense for bad people to write an entire book preaching against themselves, does it? Especially when that book is the foundation for a religion condemning the same immoral actions.
With that said, good and bad people have both been eliminated from the logical possibilities of people who could have written the Bible. So who on earth does that leave? Well, the correct answer is "nobody." No human being could have written the Bible apart from God's inspiration. Therefore, the Bible truly is inspired by God.
Also, there is a numerical pattern in the Bible, discovered by Dr. Ivan Panin. This pattern contains further proof that a man could never have written the Bible without the direct inspiration of God. The page with that information is linked at the end of this article.
Proof #3: Science provides strong evidence in favor of the Bible's timeline
After all of the above, you may still be thinking, "Come on, Alexa, science shows the world is millions of years old and evolution is true!" Well, I disagree. I believe that science favors a young earth and a Biblical, six-day creation.
For a brief example, let's take my favorite quote from Answers in Genesis, a Christian apologetics ministry:
"If there was a global flood, what would you expect to find? Billions of dead things, buried in rock layers, laid down by water all over the earth. And what do we find in the fossil record? Billions of dead things, buried in rock layers, laid down by water all over the earth!"
See where I'm going with this? The fossil record aligns with the Biblical account of Noah's Flood. You can follow the genealogies from Adam to Christ to today and add all the years up to get approximately 6,000 years leading from creation to the present. The Bible even explains the origins of the different ethnicities and languages!
I could go on for millions of years (ha-ha), but I think that's more than enough information for you to chew on for one article. See you around the blog!
