Scripture Collection 2: Surrender

Hello! I’m Kira, the newest writer for Foundations First. Today I want to share some Scriptures with you about a topic God has put on my heart lately: surrender.

Surrendering to God isn’t easy for most people, and I’m no exception. I often want to have control over every aspect of my life. But as followers of Christ, we are called to surrender every part of our lives to God.

And like BJ has said before, when I’m having a hard day, it can be a struggle to search through my Bible to find specific verses. It’s been helpful to me to memorize Scripture collections like this, and I find God will often bring these verses to mind when I need to hear them.

So, here are several verses about surrendering to God.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “ ~Matthew 11:28-29

“Let us now fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are great.” ~2 Samuel 24:14

“Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.” ~Psalm 55:22

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” ~Proverbs 3:5-6

“The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” ~Exodus 14:14
