Hello!
Meet Brooke Johnson, a high school Senior living in the foothills of East Tennessee, where she’s been writing creative fiction every day since 2019.

Brooke has completed several novels, one of which was a semi-finalist in the One Year Adventure Novel contest for teen writers. She writes in several genres and strives to create a story universe that is as realistic and interesting as possible.

When she’s not writing or practicing banjo, she can be found sitting under her fairy lights, drinking coffee and drawing, or socializing, giving mini-lectures on writing to unsuspecting friends from church.
My Story
Wings of a Writer started as a foray into the unknown, a young writer’s secondary hobby and was quickly abandoned in favor of “more interesting things.”

In her Senior year, Brooke has come back to Wings and begun expanding it into a helpful resource. Her goal is to create a safe space where new teen writers and old can come learn about and discuss what they love best.

On Wings you will find resources and articles on topics like how to know if creative writing is for you, how to start your first novel, creating characters, and how to create a world for your story.
Wings also serves as a place for Brooke to share on how being a Christian effects her writing, and how Christians can write without falling into the dread trap of sounding ‘preachy.’
