Yes, I know that title is laughable, but I don't really care. :)
Since I've joined the One Year Adventure Novel student forum, I've become a user of many words coined by the other young writers upon there. Due to this fact, I thought I had better explain some of the more common words, since I really like using some of them.
So, here you go!
The Ever Growing Glossary of Terms:
OYAN or OYANer: One Year Adventure Novel (User)
CWP: Acronym for Clear Water Press, the host website for the sale of the OYAN curriculum and its companion writing curricula.
Avvie: Profile Picture/Avatar
Drabble: A short bit of writing that can relate to a W.I.P. story, or be completely
new
Plot Bunny: An idea (usually a distracting one) that will attack when you are trying to finish whatever your current writing project is. Feared because it is very hard to put in a cage with a carrot until your current project is finished.
Glomp: An enthusiastic OYANer tackle-hug
Mr. & Mrs. S./The S's: Daniel Schwabauer and his wife
Mentors: These are usually students who have passed the 20yo age limit on the Student Forum, but been allowed back for a while to help the Admin with the younger students. They don't bite.
"Compass": The OYAN lesson book
"Map": The OYAN workbook
SW: Summer Workshop
XD: The OYAN equivalent of "Lol"
POV: Point Of View
More terms probably coming soon!
